Italian Food and Art Festival - 2nd Week of Italian Cuisine in the World • Ningbo

Following the success of 2016, the second Week of Italian Cuisine in the World crossed China again, with 125 colorful celebrations. In Ningbo, Laowaitan International Talents Community joined the celebration, as an open gathering platform for business, leisure, life and service talents, with the purpose to bring together friends from China and abroad, to share and promote the traditional Italian food culture.

 

In order to enrich the international atmosphere of the Old Bund and actively promote the development of the city, during the 2nd Week of Italian Cuisine in the World on the afternoon of December 2, Laowaitan International Talents Community held the event "Italian Food and Art Festival". The event was organized by Laowaitan International Talents Community and the Italian Union of Economic & Cultural Development UISEC-East China, sponsored by the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, Ningbo Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, the Italian Trade Promotion Agency and the Italian Institute of Culture in Shanghai. Both China and Italy strongly support and recognize the Italian Consulate General in Shanghai and expressed their gratitude to Ningbo Laowaitan International Talents Community for hosting and promoting this event. The distinguished guests attending the event included Mrs. Ludovica Murazzani, Consul of Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, Mr. Cai Jiemin, Deputy Director of Ningbo Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, Mr. Du Chuanpeng, Deputy Director of Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Jiangbei District, the relevant leaders of UISEC-East China, University representatives, Trade Association representatives and friends in Ningbo.

 

The event started with the speech of Mrs. Ludovica Murazzani, Consul of Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, introducing the history of the Italian cuisine known as the "Mother of Continental Europe" and today's cuisine art development as well as the profound influence on food and beverage in Europe and the United States. She explained about the origin, development and global visibility of the “Week of Italian Cuisine in the World”.

 

Mr. Cai Jiemin, Deputy Director of Ningbo Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, talked about the individual's cognition of Italian food culture and the similarities and differences of Chinese and Italian food culture.

 

Michele Vanacore, President of the Italian Union for Economic & Cultural Development in East China, thanked all the guests present at the event and expressed the intention of UISEC-East China to contribute to the promotion of the traditional Italian food culture during the “Week of Italian Cuisine in the World”.

 

Then, the Italian designer Luca Di Cesare presented the theme "il Piacere and il Sapere", an introduction to the perfect combination of Italian cuisine and art.

 

During the engaging food tasting, the guests enjoyed the feast of the best Italian wine and traditional cuisine, experiencing an amazing journey into Italian taste.

 

The success of the "Italian Food and Art Festival" will further strengthen the close ties between Italy, Ningbo and even East China and will promote the cultural exchange between our Countries.
